The comparison of topotypes of Phrynus barbadensis (Pocock, 1893) with specimens of Phrynus gervaisii (Pocock, 1894) from Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago demonstrated that the last species is a junior synonym of the former. Also, for the first time, this species is recorded from Aruba (Netherland Antilles).
